![]() In Part II we see Christ in form or Christophany. Here we want to treat a sampling of those scriptures. They include a rich portrait of Old Testament patterns, types and allusions which point to the Person and Work of Jesus Christ. These begin to be recognized by those who enjoy reading God’s Word. Themes are repeated and developed in Scripture. In archetype is displayed the amazing divine oversight of the God of the Bible. We are able to look at what at first appears to be random direction from God for separation, cleansing, worship and celebration, and see with marvelous clarity in type, the coming Christ. We must realize that the Christian worldview has amazing internal unity and consistency thanks to the model presented in the law and ritual as designed by the Great Painter/Creator God. In Part I we will see the extent to which God has gone in order to give us a “picture” of Jesus Christ from the beginning. For He who promised is faithful” (Heb 10:19-23). Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Old Testament foundation, preparation and expectation, and He is the reason that we can “hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering. Jesus said, “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life and these are they which testify of Me (John 5:39). ![]() ![]() Jesus began with Moses and all the prophets as He taught the disciples on the road to Emmaus and expounded through all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself (Luke 24:27).
